White Grounds

An innovative plaza-style skatepark underneath a run-down railway arch in SE1, this skatepark has a really different design with many quirky obstacles. The original design, which was voted runner-up in the “best unbolt design in London”, has been built on the ground exactly as the designers and local skate community wanted it!
Under the darkness of the London Bridge arches the skatepark starts at the gates with two bank to wallrides, one with a sweet hip. This leads on to the right a massive multi layer block feature, with a curved block, a flat block and a long hubba style down block leading to long mellow three stair with corner manual pads, (similar to that of West Bletchley) and another down block and wall ride. To the left is a big quarter-pipe, with opportunity to wallride. This then takes you to the back of the skatepark where there is a strange whippy, wide bowled quarter. Also to the left as you come in the park between the bank and the hip is another archway, which inside it lays a mini ramp style quarter-pipe and spine with rollover.
A super smooth, well spaced concrete plaza. It has been designed to fit the existing architecture which makes it quite unique, and they’ve managed to squeeze in loads of obstacles into a tight space which makes for lots of interesting lines.
The location is great with plenty of other skate spots nearby with South Bank just a quick skate along the Thames. St. Pauls is also close by, being just across the Thames about 10 minutes away and loads of street spots all through the city going north towards Old Street or Liverpool Street.
A must go to if your in London.
