Royal Oak Skatepark

Wickedly smooth skatepark with one of the most old-school obstacles in central London.
The street section is a must hit-up spot, maybe not for an all-time session, but perfect for a warm-up or warm-down or just chilling. An outdoor park, situated under a bridge, so is sometimes protected from the wills of the weather but sometimes not. It can get wet but is quick to dry.
The roll-in half-pipe, with a bowled corner at one end, is one of the most gnarly old-school spots to skate, packing a massive gap between the two half-pipe sections. The gap was first done by the Gonz back in 1991 for his part in ‘Video Days’, earning it the prestigious title of ‘The Gonz Gap’.
The street course consists of a 6 foot flat-bank at one end with a slightly bowled 5 foot quarter-pipe at the other. In between is a sweet banked hip, which offers the opportunity of gapping over the wall of the park into the road. On the other side is a smooth T-block, perfect for grinds, slides and manuals.
This is quite an easy to ride skatepark due to the simplicity of its obstacles and crazy smooth surface. A fair few flowing lines although generally backwards and forwards in nature. Does have floodlights, but these are a bit temperamental.
