Pioneer

This is a sweet, little quirky indoor skatepark on the outskirts of St.Albans town. The skatepark consists of an indoor street/park section and an outdoor mini ramp and half pipe. The outdoor mini ramp is long, wooden and stands at a height of 4 foot with a slanting extension to 4½ foot. The half again is quite long, and stands at 5 foot with a extension to 6 foot, with pool coping on the extension.
The indoor street/park course has, at one end, a 5 foot quarter-pipe next to a 6 foot roll-in, gnarly 8 foot drop-in flat bank and another 6 foot quarter. At the other end, along the back wall, is a gnarly 9 foot vert wall, a large flat-bank with 4 quarter in the middle, next to a narrow 6 foot quarter-pipe, a narrow 3 foot quarter-pipe and a euro gap, leading up to a whippy quarter to wall ride. Separating these two ends, to one side, is a small fun-box with hubbas, connecting to a pyramid box. In the centre of the park is a larger fun-box with hubbas and a round, kinked rail. On the other side of this fun-box is flat-bank to long platform with a box to one side and square rail to the other, this leads to the euro gap. In addition to this there are large flat sections and many moveable objects, such as rails, boxes and quirky manny pads.
There’s something for everyone here, from the larger quarters, hubbas and vert wall to the quirky little manny pads, small boxes and euro gap. Beginners can also benefit from the Thursday 6-8 beginner only sessions, and more advanced skaters from the 2 hour skate-only session after the beginner session on a Thursday from 8-10. This skatepark is another park that is one of the best for switching up obstacles and putting new additions in on the regular, keeping it constantly fresh and original.
A great indoor skatepark to visit if its a wet or windy day.
*Note that BMXs are not allowed*
Cost: The entry fee is £4 or £6 for the weekend session.
